Pottery - Two Part Clay Class

In-Person Pottery Classes ~ Handbuilding

Join us for a soulful two-part pottery experience where your hands, heart, and imagination come together in clay. In Carved Bowl, you’ll use the timeless pinching technique to handbuild a beautifully organic bowl—and then carve a personal “story” into its surface, making it uniquely yours.

Class 1: Handbuilding
: We’ll begin by shaping your bowl from a single ball of clay, guiding you through the pinching technique to create form, flow, and character. Once your bowl emerges, you’ll sketch and carve meaningful patterns, symbols, or imagery that tell a story—your story.

Class 2: Glazing
: Return to the studio to bring your carved narrative to life with color. You’ll learn glazing approaches that enhance texture and highlight the carved details you created in Class 1.

By the end, you’ll have a truly one-of-a-kind bowl—rich with texture, meaning, and your own creative voice.

Perfect for all experience levels. Come ready to explore, express, and enjoy the magic of making.

Learn basic hand-building techniques and make a one-of-a-kind piece out of stoneware clay!

Class Info

• Instruction will lead students to each hand-build their own piece. All levels welcome.

• Adults Only (18 years and up), Registration required. No Walk-ins.
  

• First Class... Hand-build piece and embellish surface design. Students are encouraged to vary from demo style and incorporate self-expression.

• Second Class... glaze piece that has been fired to bisque** **Pick up finished piece the following week.

• Included: all clay and glazes, use of tools and equipment, kiln firings, guided instruction.

• We start classes promptly on time. Class Registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable. No make-ups for missed classes.
