4 Day Workshop - In-Depth Intensive

Open to ALL - MMPS Members AND Non-Members

Adventure into this unique use of fresh flowers and leaves as we press, boil ,and extract the plants’ hidden colors between layers of cotton paper. The paper staining outcomes are random, spontaneous and absolutely lovely. Plant-Stained Papers can be used for journals, stationery, mixed media, or framed and hung as wall art.Ā

We will design beautiful layouts from a variety of plant materials including flowers, leaves, and edibles. We’ll discuss the variables in what makes plants stain beautiful and leave textured designs.Ā

In this in-person workshop, we will engage in a step-by-step journey starting with choosing plant fodder, folding paper, reviewing supplies, designing and boiling 3 paper sets, boiling 3 times, and revealing the papers' amazing stains. We will discuss plants to use, successful plant combinations, and variations in design and technique.

We will also handstitch a book using Rachelle's signature altered French Link stitch, mount two pages on matboard for you to later frame and hang for lovely wall decor.

This workshop includes instructional documents for continuing your Plant-Staining at home and membership into Rachelle Eason’s Plant-Stained Paper private Plant-Stained Paper Communities group.

This is a workshop of true wonder as you engage in a little known form of paper dyeing.
