Create something you’ll reach for again and again.

In this two-part class, you’ll handbuild a beautifully functional colander bowl, perfect for rinsing berries, draining pasta, or serving fresh produce straight to the table. Thoughtfully designed drainage and textured surfaces transform this everyday form into something uniquely yours.

During the first session, you’ll shape your bowl and explore surface design through carving and perforation, learning how placement and spacing affect both function and visual rhythm. In the second session, you’ll return to glaze your piece, enhancing its texture and bringing your design to life.

This class is a wonderful balance of creativity and utility; where form meets purpose in a piece you’ll truly use.

🌿 A note:

Each colander will have its own character...no two are alike. Variations in texture, pattern, and glaze make every piece one-of-a-kind.

Class Info

• Instruction will lead students to each hand-build their own pieces. All levels welcome.

• Suitable for beginners and returning students.
  

• Adults Only (18 years and up) Only registered students are permitted in the studio.

• Two Classes... Class 1: Hand-build pieces with wet clay. Class 2: Glaze bisque fired piece.

• Included: all clay and glazes, use of tools and equipment, 2 kiln firings, guided instruction.

• We start classes promptly on time. Class Registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable. No make-ups for missed classes. Please email with any questions.
