2-Part Handbuilding Clay Class

Sundays July 18 & August 1, 2027;  1-4PM each day!

Start with a simple spherical clay form and discover just how much personality it can hold! In The Artful Animal, you’ll transform that form into an imaginative animal sculpture using a combination of hand-sculpted details and features created from our collection of animal sprig molds or your own design.

Choose an owl, frog, turtle, dog, fish, fantastical creature, or follow your imagination in an entirely different direction. We’ll explore ways to alter the basic form, add expressive faces, feet, wings, ears, textures, and other details that give each animal its own character.

Part 1: Sunday, July 18 | 1–4 PM
Sculpt and build your animal.

Part 2: Sunday, August 1 | 1–4 PM
Glaze and bring your creature to life.

From owls to frogs to fantastic creatures, the possibilities are endless!

Please note: This is a 2-part class. Registration includes both dates, and attendance at both sessions is necessary to complete your pieces.

All classes at Marvelous Mud Pottery Studio are designed for adults.

Members may use specific Member Discount Code for this class (found in Communities) if using their own clay. Discount Code must be used at checkout. No refunds will be given full registration.

Class Info

• Instruction will lead students to each hand-build their own pieces. All levels welcome.

• Adults Only (18 years and up) Only registered students are permitted in the studio.

• Two Classes... Class 1: Hand-build piece with wet clay. Class 2: Glaze bisque fired piece.

• Included: all clay and glazes, use of tools and equipment, 2 kiln firings, guided instruction.

• We start classes promptly on time. Class Registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable. No make-ups for missed classes. Please email with any questions.
