If you’ve been curious about figure sculpture but quietly intimidated to try it… this workshop was created for you.

This 1.5-day experience is designed specifically for members who want a supportive, structured introduction to sculpting the human form. Rather than starting with full expressive movement, we’ll begin with a guided, foundational approach to building a balanced, general standing figure. You’ll learn how to simplify proportions, understand basic structure, and establish a stable pose without over-complicating the process.

The step-by-step guidance focuses on:

• Building a stable body form 

• Blocking in major masses (torso, hips, legs, head)

• Understanding proportion in an approachable way

• Creating a calm, grounded stance with or without visible legs

• Refining posture and subtle gesture

• Adding minimal facial features and surface character

• Exploring clothing, texture, or simplified details

• Personalizing your figure while preserving structure

This workshop emphasizes clarity over complexity. You’ll finish with a complete figure and a foundational understanding that makes future sculptural exploration feel possible, not overwhelming.

Rachelle will guide demonstrations and provide individualized support throughout, ensuring you feel steady, capable, and encouraged.

This is not about perfection.
It’s about removing fear and realizing: You absolutely can sculpt the human form.

Come prepared to slow down, get lost in the clay, and discover just how expressive your hands can be.
